FAQ
gOT A BURNING QUESTION?
We got you covered.
Do you suspect your offices may be bugged as sensitive information seems to be getting into the wrong hands? It could be a disgruntled colleague, competitor or even an agency.
If your answer is yes, you might just want to conduct a sweep as a precautionary measure. But what you don’t want is a shoddy quick fix that is limited in scope and falls short in addressing your underlying concerns.
How do I identify bugs?
When operating, it gives off radio frequencies (RF). Some of such bugs can be remotely activated, voice-activated or record/store and forward when commanded. But when they’re not activated, they do not transmit RF. Even if they are transmitting, the signal may be very weak.
This is why simply placing an RF detector in the middle of an office floor won’t find your bugs.

Most of our clients often ask “What equipment do we use?” and our answer to them would be – it depends on the job scope.
We do not have a “one size fits all” kind of solution as we understand that each of our client cases differs. Depending on the scope of the case, we will propose different equipment with their specifications accordingly.
But we do dabble with state of the art equipment like a Wireless Camera Scanner, RFD near field detector, GSM Phone Detection and many more.
Here’s a simple checklist for your consideration when engaging a TSCM service provider:
- Ensure your provider has the confidential approach in place to meet the threat imposed. It is crucial in developing a well-rounded Sweep Plan.
- Check that your service provider has experienced, trained personnel. If they have never seen a bug before, how can they expect to find one?
- Your service provider should supply a list of equipment that will be used during the sweep. Feel free to ask questions about it and inspect it on site. Understand the process.
- Some TSCM companies operate illegally in Singapore and Hong Kong. Make sure your service provider has the necessary license and permits to operate else you might land yourself in some serious trouble with the law.
